Q: What is Career Coaching?
A: Coaching is a relationship, built upon one-on-one sessions that allow you to delve into your current opportunities and what makes you tick.
Q: Who can benefit from career coaching?
A: Anyone who is longing for clarity in their career choice. Whether starting your career, or in the middle of a career transition, career coaching can help you navigate the many twists and turns before you.
Q: Isn’t working with a coach a little bit like admitting I am incapable of figuring this out for myself?
A: I know it can sound a bit pretentious to say you are working with a career coach – after all, coaching used to be perceived as a luxury; however, things have changed! It’s becoming increasingly more appealing to younger generations to check in with a coaching professional. Of the 18,800 workers surveyed in a recent International Coach Federation poll, 35 percent of those between 25 and 34 years old said they already had participated in a coaching relationship.
What does that mean for you? It means that coaching is comparable to working with an athletic coach, or doing anything else that helps you reach your potential. If the opportunity is there, why not take it?

Q: How do the Wired for Work Coaching Sessions Work?
A: Before your first coaching session, you will first need to complete a Birkman assessment/survey. Your Birkman assessment/survey will be authorized by your Birkman coach, thereby granting your Birkman coach access to your Birkman report(s). After this, your Birkman coach will send you your Birkman report prior to your first coaching session. All coaching sessions will take place virtually (Zoom). All coaching sessions will occur over a period of nine weeks, with three-week intervals between each session. Coaching sessions will occur between the client and coach only. All Birkman reports, insights, strategies, and conversations are strictly confidential between the client and the coach only.
Q: Why the Birkman and how is the Birkman different from other career assessments?
A: Along with career information from the employment personality test, Birkman also provides key reports that help you develop self-awareness as you approach a new role, including what strengths you bring to the job and what you need from others to be as successful as possible in the workplace. These insights give you a leg up to perform at your best.
