PEERS: Social Skills Program for the Modern Teenager

PEERS, The Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills, is a 12-week evidence-based social skills training program, for middle and high school students. Developed by Dr. Elizabeth Laugeson at UCLA, this program enjoys global recognition, implemented in over 35 countries.
Research has shown that teens with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) as well as ADHD, anxiety, depression, and socio-emotional problems have made positive progress from the PEERS program.
How is PEERS for Teens Structured?

The PEERS Social Skills Training Program is designed to help teens enhance their social skills and confidence through interactive learning. Over 12 weeks, teens participate in 90-minute sessions held either in person at our Surrey, BC office or online via Zoom. The program incorporates engaging activities and practical training to build essential social skills.
Parental Involvement in PEERS Social Skills Training

Parental participation is an essential aspect of the PEERS for Teens model. During the last 20 minutes of each session, parents will log in to review the week’s homework and learn practical strategies to support their teen’s social growth. They take an active role in helping their teens complete weekly assignments, including tasks like practicing phone conversations with peers or organizing social gatherings.
Under the guidance of a trained facilitator, the program empowers both teens and parents with the knowledge and skills to build and maintain meaningful friendships.

Health and Safety Measures (In Person)
The health and safety of our visitors, employees, clients and our fellow tenants, is our number one priority. As such, we ask that if you're not feeling well – even if you only have mild symptoms – please stay home.
Cancellation & Refund Policy:
Your child is carefully placed in the most appropriate group as it is our intention for them to grow and flourish. Our clinicians take a lot of time, carefully constructing our groups and as such cancellations can be detrimental to the group dynamics and in some cases lead to cancellation of the class, which affects all families. We ask that you be fully informed and carefully consider what participation in the program might look like for your family before committing.
Cancellations will be accepted up to 30 days prior to the start of the program and a full refund will be issued. Cancellation requests with less than 30 calendar days notice will be subject to payment of the full program fees. In some cases, we will, at the discretion of the Centre, allow a participant to transfer to a future class; however no refund will be issued.
