Headed for Summer School? It’s Not Too Late for Success This School Year!

Spring Programs at wccl avoid summer school

If your child seems headed for summer school, you’re not alone. Many families feel overwhelmed this time of year—especially when the school year has been tough. But the good news is, there’s still time. You can help your child make real progress before June.

At West Coast Centre for Learning, we believe in the brain’s ability to adapt—even with just a few weeks left. Learning doesn’t follow a straight line, and the right strategy at the right time can shift everything. With strong support, even small changes can lead to meaningful growth. Here is why that meaningful growth can still happen:

  • The brain is remarkably adaptable
  • Growth isn’t linear
  • The right approach changes everything
  • Small shifts create ripple effects

Targeted Programs That Create Change

We offer targeted programs designed to help students catch up, gain confidence, and close learning gaps before summer begins. These programs rely on research, focus on results, and deliver impact in weeks—not months.

  1. Cogmed helps improve working memory and attention. After five weeks of training, 80% of children show improvement in math. Children and teens with ADHD often reduce learning struggles by 50% after completing the program.
  2. Fast ForWord helps students build language and reading skills. With more than 50 patents in neuroscience and education, it’s one of the most trusted programs in the field. On average, students increase 1.5 – 2 grade levels in reading on completion of the program.
  3. The Listening Program (TLP) builds emotional regulation, communication, and executive function through music-based therapy. Used in more than 35 countries, TLP strengthens areas like auditory processing, motor coordination, and stress response.
  4. Clear Fluency supports students who struggle with reading. This tool provides real-time feedback and builds independence. It’s especially helpful for learners with auditory processing challenges, ADHD, or autism.
  5. Executive Function Coaching focuses on skills that support every subject. Students learn how to manage time, plan ahead, and stay focused—skills that often make the biggest difference in daily school life.

Don’t Wait for September

You don’t need to wait until September and hope things improve. You can take action now. There’s still enough time to create positive change before the year ends and avoid summer school.
