THRIVE with ADHD Program at west coast centre for learning

Are you looking for a way to help your child not just manage, but truly thrive with ADHD? THRIVE is a unique 9-week program is designed to empower children diagnosed with ADHD, offering a blend of practical instruction, physical fitness, and engaging activities that cater specifically to their needs.

At THRIVE, we believe in helping children understand their own brains and behaviors. Our program provides insightful knowledge about ADHD, offering strategies that help these young minds grasp why they do what they do. But that’s not all. THRIVE stands out by integrating physical exercise into its curriculum – a key component in alleviating symptoms of ADHD.

Exercise in our program isn’t just about physical activity; it’s a tool to activate the brain, particularly the frontal lobe, which is crucial for attention and focus. This is especially beneficial for children with hyperactive/impulsive ADHD and those with inattentive ADHD. By engaging in physical activities, children are not only burning off excess energy but also sharpening their focus and attention systems.

Who is Thrive for?

THRIVE isn’t just for children with ADHD; it’s also open to their siblings. This inclusive approach allows siblings to understand and empathize with the challenges of ADHD through active participation. It’s a great opportunity for siblings to bond and learn together in a supportive environment. Additionally, children with associated conditions like anxiety, depression, working memory and executive function challenges, or high-functioning autism are welcome. An official diagnosis is not a prerequisite for joining THRIVE.

How is the Program Structured?

Our program structure is tailored to the unique needs of children with ADHD. Each session starts with a clear outline of the day’s activities. This routine helps in setting the right tone and expectations for the day. The fitness training component includes two 30-minute sessions each week, focused on exercises that cross the midline and help build strength and cardio. These sessions are not just fun but are also crucial in helping children channel their energy productively and improve their physical well-being.

Registration for THRIVE is now open, and classes begin in April. Don’t miss this opportunity to enroll your child in a program that goes beyond the conventional approaches to ADHD. THRIVE is more than just a program; it’s a journey towards understanding, managing, and excelling with ADHD.
